KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA, a global agribusiness that propagates and distributes seeds, faced fragmented internal and external data across many formats and a small IT team stretched by maintenance and on‑premise systems. The company needed a clean core and better data management to free IT for strategic work and prepare for cloud modernization.

With NTT DATA’s help, KWS implemented SAP HANA Cloud as a data fabric alongside SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP Analytics Cloud to consolidate enterprise data and enable real‑time replication from SAP and non‑SAP sources into a single database. The move boosted development and application performance, increased real‑time replication tables from 80 to 230 (a 188% rise) without performance loss, simplified scalability, enabled self‑service reporting, and allowed IT to focus on strategic initiatives.
