A SAP HANA Case Study
AMADA, a global leader in metal-processing equipment and machinery, faced a need to standardize IT across its worldwide operations around 2000. With disparate systems (Oracle and JD Edwards in some sites, SAP in others) and growing complexity from acquisitions and custom “made-to-order” products, the company needed a single, manufacturing-focused platform to unify processes and support variant configurators.
AMADA chose SAP — later moving to SAP HANA — and deployed SAP ERP at AMADA AMERICA as a proof of concept. The platform delivered stronger production control, consolidated manufacturing, sales and distribution, improved integration and scalability, and provided deeper business insights, enabling efficient global operations and reliable support for configurable customer solutions.
