SAP Innovation Awards 2023 Entry Pitch Deck Improving Visibility into Services Spend to the Tune of $1B

Accenture, a global professional services firm with 738,000 employees, faced limited visibility and control over its services spend—roughly $3.5B—plus fragmented tools, inconsistent contract visibility, and exposure to local legal and regulatory risk. Employees, suppliers and procurement teams were frustrated by disjointed processes and a lack of a global standard for managing statement-of-work (SOW) engagements, so Accenture set out to digitize and standardize services procurement.

Accenture implemented SAP Fieldglass as the preferred buying channel and used its reporting, analytics and integrations (co-delivered with SAP using a SAFe delivery model) to link spend to contracts, streamline invoicing and enable faster supplier collaboration. The rollout enabled 14 countries in 12 months, brought $1B of annual services spend into Fieldglass across 2,000 suppliers, delivered 99% invoicing accuracy with a 7% error reduction across 10,000 SOWs, increased supplier and SOW adoption dramatically, and improved visibility into external workers and contract performance.
