Vodafone, a global telecommunications provider, partnered with Accenture and SAP to tackle a legacy ERP landscape that limited real-time insights, created user dissatisfaction, and relied on heavy customizations and process variability across countries. The company needed to standardize and automate end-to-end processes to improve employee experience, reduce complexity, and enable faster, data-driven decision making.

Vodafone implemented a single-instance SAP S/4HANA cloud landscape with SAP Business Technology Platform and complementary SAP solutions (Ariba, Concur, SuccessFactors, Fieldglass), guided by Accenture and SAP MaxAttention. The 18-month migration delivered one of the world’s largest S/4HANA conversions with minimal downtime, resulting in >70% of core processes automated, ~85% standardized across 24 countries, a database reduction from 22 TB to 7 TB, faster reporting (500 ms spend analysis), improved month-end close and higher employee Net Promoter Scores.
