Sanitas Management AG Transforming Procurement to Achieve Process Excellence and Reduce Costs

Sanitas Management AG, a Zurich-based insurer serving about 850,000 customers with CHF 3 billion in annual premiums, needed to modernize procurement as it scaled. Procurement and contract data were fragmented across multiple systems, creating limited visibility, manual processes, compliance risk and missed opportunities for cost savings during the company’s wider digital-transformation push.

Working with SAP and SAP Gold Partner apsolut Group, Sanitas implemented SAP Ariba solutions (Supplier Lifecycle & Performance, Contracts, Sourcing and the SAP Business Network) using the SAP Activate approach and targeted workshops. The project consolidated four systems into one platform, automated approvals and notifications, and delivered centralized dashboards; as a result Sanitas achieved rapid user adoption, improved supplier data quality, real-time visibility, stronger compliance and governance, reduced business risk and measurable efficiency and cost benefits (65% of strategic suppliers were already on the SAP Business Network).
