A SAP Ariba Case Study
Royal Philips, a global healthcare technology company undergoing a shift from consumer electronics to health-focused solutions, needed flexible, cost-effective access to highly specialist skills and better visibility across its total workforce. To support rapid growth in healthcare technology, Philips sought to align talent strategy across employees, contingent labor and services providers and improve decision-making about where and how work gets done.
Working with Randstad Sourceright and implementing SAP Fieldglass, Philips rolled out contingent workforce management in 24 countries—managing roughly €500 million in contingent spend—and integrated with Workday and the twago freelance platform. The solution delivered deep visibility into roles, locations, certifications and costs, enabled employee-versus-contingent cost comparisons, improved compliance and onboarding, unlocked significant year‑on‑year cost savings, and is now being expanded into services procurement to further fuel growth.
