A SAP Ariba Case Study
NTT DATA Services, a division of NTT DATA Corporation with more than 50,000 employees and about US$4 billion in revenue, faced the challenge of building a lean, scalable global procurement organization after acquiring Dell Services. The acquisition pushed combined supplier outlays to over US$1 billion and created urgent needs to centralize procurement policies, increase supplier visibility, reduce risk, and realize significant savings while still allowing localized purchasing.
NTT DATA implemented a center‑led, integrated source‑to‑pay stack—SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and SAP Concur—built a three‑dimensional spend cube and contract repository, and migrated nearly all services spend into the platform. The result: management of roughly 3,700 suppliers and over US$1 billion in spend, more than US$100 million in value captured, millions in annual spend savings, US$3M+ in contingent‑labor rebates, 14,000 invoices processed per month, and a buyer desk that saves over US$1M annually while improving supplier competition and agility.
