Jai Balaji Industries Limited is a major mill-products manufacturer in Eastern India (five plants, ~7,100 employees, US$228M revenue) producing DRI, billets, TMT bars and ductile iron pipes. To keep pace with volatile markets the company needed to standardize, centralize and automate procurement, increase e‑procurement activity, speed supplier identification, and create transparency across sourcing processes.

Working with Cloudway Consulting, Jai Balaji deployed SAP Ariba Sourcing to broaden its supplier network, streamline tendering and automate strategic sourcing. The initiative engaged some 70–100 suppliers, accelerated sourcing cycles, and delivered about 12% cost savings across categories within six months—resulting in lower costs, improved service and safer, more transparent negotiations.
