Constellation Brands, a major consumer-products company with beer and spirits operations across the U.S., Mexico and other markets, faced a pressing challenge as rapid growth exposed its fragmented procurement landscape: two legacy ERP systems, decentralized supplier management and highly manual processes left the company without enterprise-wide spend visibility and hindered harmonization between divisions.
To fix this, Constellation Brands unified data and processes on SAP S/4HANA and deployed SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, SAP Business Network and SAP Ariba Spend Analysis (with Deloitte as implementation partner). The transformation simplified IT, tightened spend control and streamlined procure-to-pay workflows; outcomes include virtually all spend under management, 90.35% of invoices managed, 83.94% of invoices received via the Business Network, 75% first-pass invoice matching and 26% of transactions becoming low- or no-touch—enabling faster, data-driven responses to market change.
