How Does One of the World’s Four Largest Consulting Firms Achieve Intelligent Spend Management

Deloitte, one of the world’s largest professional services firms operating in 150 countries, needed a way to prepare its lines of business for a large-scale move to SAP S/4HANA and to realize cost savings that could help fund that transformation. The challenge was to standardize and unify spend-management processes, improve supplier relationships and authorization controls, and manage a growing contingent workforce ahead of the ERP roll-out.

Deloitte deployed SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass as part of a “clean ERP” strategy, implementing cloud-based intelligent spend management before the S/4HANA migration. The initiative delivered about £10 million in annual savings, standardized global spend processes, strengthened supplier contracts and pre-commitment authorization, enabled contingent workforce management, and built expertise Deloitte can now bring to its clients.
