Air Canada, one of the world’s largest carriers operating across nearly 220 airports on six continents, sought to modernize its procurement to gain a consolidated view of spend, increase automation, and improve transparency and compliance—needs made more urgent by the shift to remote work during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
The airline deployed a fully integrated SAP Ariba suite (Sourcing, Contracts, Buying, Invoice Management), Ariba Network and SAP Signature Management by DocuSign to automate invoicing, contract workflows, guided buying and three‑way matching. The rollout delivered greater visibility and control, reduced costs and staff burden, and strengthened supply‑chain continuity and agility—including 300 guided‑buying users, a 167% quarter‑on‑quarter increase in spend processed through Ariba Buying, a 33% cut in non‑PO invoice processing time, and a 43% rise in catalog purchases.
