Woolworths Group, one of Australia’s largest retailers with around 3,000 stores and 29 million customers served weekly, set out to modernize procurement as part of a multiyear digital transformation. Woolworths implemented SAP Ariba as a single cloud procurement platform to centralize buying, standardize processes, and roll out guided buying to more than 1,000 stores. The solution automated and integrated workflows for A$6 billion in spend, delivered ordering-channel compliance above 90% within a month, paid 99.7% of nontrade suppliers on time (97.3% for small suppliers), and freed store teams to focus on customers.
