Hemas Holdings PLC is a listed Sri Lankan conglomerate with diversified interests across FMCG, healthcare, leisure, transportation and power. The company faced a fragmented, manual procurement process run by individual business units that was time-consuming, opaque and increasingly unable to meet growing and complex sourcing needs—hurting efficiency and the bottom line.

Hemas implemented the Ariba Sourcing solution and the Ariba Network to centralize and automate sourcing, run online auctions, and broaden supplier participation. As a result more than 80% of spend is now procured through the platform, administrative work fell by over 50%, first‑year savings exceeded US$190,000 and total spend savings are around 7%, while transparency, supplier competition, spend visibility and risk analytics all improved.
