Etihad Airways Developing an All-in-One RFP Process Requiring One Department not Five with SAP Ariba Solutions

Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi–based carrier with around 26,000 employees, needed best-in-class software to support rapid expansion and a business transformation program. Procurement was a major bottleneck: creating an RFP involved five departments and two systems, which slowed purchasing, reduced visibility into contracts and spend, and made supplier onboarding inefficient.

Etihad implemented SAP Ariba Sourcing and Ariba Supplier Information Management in the cloud to streamline source-to-contract processes and automate supplier data. The program consolidated RFP creation to one system and one department, improved visibility into contracts, spending, and supplier activity, sped purchasing decisions, and provided a self-service supplier portal—with plans to add Ariba Contracts, supplier performance management, and migrate to SAP S/4HANA.
