Danfoss, a global industrial machinery and components company, needed to standardize a patchwork of ERP systems across dozens of factories and improve visibility and control of employee spend after migrating to SAP S/4HANA. The company faced slow, fragmented procurement and travel-and-expense processes that obscured indirect spend (about 30% of total) and hindered employee productivity.

Danfoss implemented SAP Ariba (sourcing, contracts, guided buying) and SAP Concur (Travel & Expense) integrated with S/4HANA to automate approvals, streamline ordering and travel booking, and enable mobile manager approvals. The changes consolidated nearly two dozen systems, automated roughly 45% of procurement processes, cut order times to about two minutes for standard items, sped reimbursements, and delivered better spend visibility and supplier management.
