Koozoo, the first crowd-sourced network of continuously broadcasting smartphone video cameras, faced typical startup procurement challenges: no supplier database, a time-consuming manual search for reliable vendors, and difficulty finding suppliers for hard-to-source devices and custom mounts. Attempts via LinkedIn, Alibaba, eBay/Amazon and Google were inefficient or produced poor-fit responses, threatening product timelines and costs.

Koozoo used Ariba Discovery to post six RFPs, leverage public Q&A to clarify requirements, and receive consolidated, relevant bids—about 10 per RFP. The company found five new suppliers, secured a custom solution that kept the launch on schedule, gained strategic supplier insight, and cut per-unit cost from $17 to under $1 while improving predictability.
