Cloud Suite Enables Transformation into a Lean and Mean Purchasing Dept

Storebrand, a Norwegian provider of pensions, life and health insurance, banking and asset management, operated a small procurement team with limited spend visibility. To address this, Storebrand deployed Ariba’s cloud suite — including Spend Visibility, Sourcing, Contract Management, Supplier Information and Performance Management, and Procure-to-Order — to centralize spend data, improve sourcing and contract enforcement, and better manage supplier sustainability. The program met aggressive savings targets on schedule, reduced maverick spend, eased compliance with FTSE4Good and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, and earned procurement the Nordic Swan “Best in Class” award twice while becoming a recognized contributor to company success.
