Bank of the Philippine Islands Achieving Cost Savings by Standardizing Purchasing

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), the Philippines’ largest bank by market capitalization with over 14,000 employees, aimed to improve efficiency and deliver cost savings to shareholders. To do this it needed a single platform for end-to-end spend visibility and control and to reduce manual reconciliation and transactional activities across procurement.

BPI deployed cloud-based SAP Ariba solutions — including Ariba Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay, and the Ariba Network — and worked with Ariba’s customer management organization to centralize and standardize purchasing and supplier collaboration. The rollout streamlined processes and automated controls, yielding sustainable savings (12% of total spend), a 40% reduction in requisition-to-order cycle time, and 30% faster invoice processing.
