Automated Entire Source-to-Settle Process and Customer Invoices

The customer, a global energy firm, faced challenges due to its decentralized structure from acquisitions, which led to significant maverick spending. Its SAP environment was not fully deployed, and previous sourcing technology had poor adoption. The company also struggled with manual, error-prone inbound and outbound invoicing processes. It partnered with SAP Ariba to automate its entire source-to-settle process and customer invoices.

SAP Ariba's solution integrated multiple products including Ariba Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay, and the Ariba Network to connect with suppliers and automate processes. The implementation resulted in over 10,000 RFx events executed in a single year and processed over 160 million euros in spend, significantly reducing maverick spending. For invoicing, the solution automated 240,000 scanned inbound invoices and sent approximately 60,000 outbound invoices annually via EDI, greatly improving accuracy and visibility.
