Achieving 98 Percent Paperless Invoicing

The energy company, one of the world's largest in its sector, faced significant challenges in streamlining its procurement processes. It needed to reduce paper invoices, improve compliance, and achieve interoperability across its eight global instances of SAP R/3. To address these issues, the company partnered with vendor SAP Ariba.

SAP Ariba implemented its procurement and invoicing solutions, integrating them with the existing SAP systems to automate workflows. This included deploying the Ariba Network to enable paperless supplier interactions. The solution achieved remarkable results, including a 98 percent paperless rate for PO invoices and an 84 percent successful posting rate for FI invoices, making the company the largest recipient of non-PO invoices on the Ariba Network.
