Case Study: Tobra Medical improves aseptic bone particulate collection with Sanner's Bone Basket

A Sanner Case Study

Preview of the Tobra Medical Case Study

Tobra Medical boosts autologous bone collection with Sanner's compact bone dust collector

Tobra Medical partnered with Sanner to develop a surgical device that could aseptically capture high-quality bone particulate during procedures. The challenge was to create a solution that would maximize the collection of a patient's own bone for grafting, improve surgical workflow, and reduce reliance on expensive substitute materials, as existing products on the market were insufficient.

Sanner transformed the initial Bone Basket concept into a fully developed, manufacturable Class 2 Exempt device. Their solution involved designing custom injection-molded components and providing in-house manufacturing support. The result was a compact, easy-to-use device that assists surgeons in reliably collecting autologous bone, providing significant cost savings by reducing the need for costly bone substitutes, biologics, and allografts.
