Forge Medical develops VasoStat with Sanner to stop bleeding while preserving blood flow

Sanner partnered with Forge Medical, an interventional radiologist, to address a challenge in arterial access procedures. After these procedures, consistent pressure must be applied to the access site to stop bleeding, but existing products achieved this by restricting blood flow to the area, which also stopped the artery from flowing.

Sanner designed and developed the VasoStat, a hands-free hemostasis device. Their solution used a plunger mechanism with ratchet arms to apply constant pressure while keeping the puncture site visible and allowing the artery to continue flowing. Sanner also provided regulatory consulting and built the Design History File. The resulting device is less costly and less complex than competitor devices on the market.
