A Sangoma Case Study
Proximus S.A. needed a scalable, accessible communications platform to help visually impaired users connect through social networking and voice services. After an earlier pilot based on proprietary telephony hardware, the company wanted an open source-based solution that could support VoIP, TDM, and PSTN integration, deliver high voice quality, and give visually challenged administrators a system they could manage. Sangoma was selected as part of the new platform, with the Sangoma A104D digital telephony board identified as a key hardware component.
Sangoma’s A104D boards were integrated with the Elastix unified communications platform and PaloSanto Solutions’ custom development to create the final system for Proximus S.A. The result was a highly reliable platform with virtually no downtime, supporting up to 240 simultaneous calls, more than 4,000 voicemail subscribers, and nearly 2 million voice minutes per month. Sangoma’s proven integration with Elastix helped simplify implementation and allowed the team to focus on new features and accessibility improvements.
