OTE Group in Oman Deploys Sangoma Business Communication System to Achieve World-class UC Setup

OTE Group, one of Oman’s largest business groups, needed to replace its Microsoft Lync 2013-based internal communications setup because existing phones were not supported for Skype for Business Server and the company wanted to avoid costly licenses, simplify management, and support multiple phone brands. To solve this, OTE Group turned to Sangoma for a more flexible, scalable unified communications platform, including FreePBX and related business communication products.

Sangoma implemented a full communications solution for OTE Group with about 340 Sangoma VoIP phones, FreePBX 60 systems, a Vega 3000 Gateway, and commercial modules such as Endpoint Manager and Extension Routing. The result was a lower-cost, easier-to-manage phone system with automated provisioning and firmware updates, strong policy control over calling privileges, and support for legacy fax machines over IP; the company was highly satisfied and planned to extend the solution to additional branch offices.
