Budd Baer Tunes Up Customer Service Functions With FreePBX

Budd Baer Inc., a growing automotive dealership in Washington, PA, needed a more reliable and centralized communications system after a fire and years of patchwork wiring left its VoIP setup difficult to support, with poor voice quality, call failures, and busy signals. The company turned to Sangoma’s FreePBX platform to modernize its phone system and support its busy sales and service operations.

Sangoma implemented a new FreePBX server based on Asterisk PBX software, while reusing the old server as a backup and adding integrations over time. The results were significant: automated appointment and parts notifications now handle more than 100 calls a day, no-show rates dropped from as high as 30% to 5%, and Budd Baer says the $6,000 software investment paid for itself within six months through labor savings and lost revenue recovery.
