Vox Telecom, a South African fixed and mobile internet provider, needed a way to stand out in a market where customers can switch providers easily. To attract and retain subscribers, Vox partnered with Samsung and retailer Makro to create a compelling promotion tied to smart TV purchases.
Customers who bought a Samsung smart TV at Makro received one million megabytes on Vox’s Fat Pipe ADSL; they registered the TV’s MAC address on a Sandvine OutReach portal and Sandvine’s Quota Manager automatically applied the free data. The campaign enhanced the viewing experience, gave customers extra reasons to stay, helped Vox win subscribers from competitors, and reinforced its reputation as an innovation leader.
