O2 UK Gives Subscribers More Choice

Telefónica O2 UK, a major UK mobile and Wi‑Fi provider, needed to give subscribers more choice while simplifying a very complex set of subscriptions and bolt‑ons. With regional and time‑based quotas (daily/monthly, domestic/EU/ROW) and numerous bolt‑on options, the combinations equated to roughly 200 service packages that were hard to manage and risked bill shock for customers.

Sandvine implemented quota and bolt‑on management across five key quotas and enabled dynamic, group‑specific notifications that let users top up with bolt‑ons as they near limits. The result was a simpler operational model, a better customer experience with reduced bill shock, increased top‑up and revenue opportunities, and improved network insight and cost‑effectiveness for O2 UK.
