GCI, an Alaska-based provider of voice, video and data services across 2G/3G/LTE and cable networks, faced a crowded marketplace and needed to stay first to market with compelling subscriber offerings. To boost adoption and differentiate its plans, GCI sought a way to offer flexible group shared mobile-data plans that could serve families and small groups across multiple devices.
Using Sandvine’s Quota Manager, GCI launched shared plans that allow up to ten members to share data across any combination of mobile devices. The new offering drove a “snowball” effect in revenue as families signed up together, increased customer satisfaction and loyalty by matching diverse needs, and leveraged Sandvine’s intelligence layer to enhance network capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.
