Eastlink Delivers High Quality VoLTE

Eastlink, one of Canada’s largest family‑owned telecommunications providers, needed to launch Voice over LTE (VoLTE) while maintaining exceptional call quality and faster call connection times for its wireless customers. The challenge was to assure end‑to‑end QoS for voice traffic across its network to deliver a superior mobile experience.

Eastlink deployed Sandvine’s Service Delivery Engine (PCRF) to enable VoLTE‑specific policies and prioritize voice traffic across the network. As a result, VoLTE calls are appropriately prioritized for maximum quality, delivering noticeably better call quality and significantly faster call setup compared with legacy analog systems.
