Intelliflo Adds Turbo Boost To Their Database Engine With Fusion Iomemory Pcie Solutions

Intelliflo, provider of the Intelligent Office (iO) web-based business management platform for financial advisers, faced rapidly growing data and traffic—including 2.5 million daily web requests and up to 10,000 DB transactions per second—and needed burstable I/O capacity ahead of a consumer-facing product launch. The company required a solution to cut database wait times and improve web response without costly SAN replacement, while supporting high availability and reducing server footprint.

Intelliflo deployed Fusion ioMemory PX600 PCIe accelerators across upgraded HP/SQL Server 2014 nodes, added InfiniBand for ultra-low-latency replication and implemented SQL AlwaysOn. The change delivered dramatic gains: database wait time dropped ~75%, web pages became ~50% faster, batch jobs ran up to 90% faster, IOPS bursting increased up to 16X, CPU on a critical instance fell from 40% to 8%, and disk and network latencies fell to near-zero—extending SAN life while lowering costs and footprint.
