Hosteur is a leading French web-hosting company that tracks millions of emails for over 40,000 websites, including customers like Nestlé and Generali. Faced with an SQL Server–based email analytics system that needed to process 8–10 million emails a day while keeping a small server footprint, enabling virtualization, and remaining easy to manage and support by Dell, Hosteur required a significant performance and scalability upgrade.

Hosteur moved active data from disk to a Fusion ioMemory ioDrive and virtualized SQL Server on a Dell R620 running VMware ESXi. The change delivered 3–4× more workload per ioDrive, about 8× performance density, and the ability to scale toward 10× the previous workload in the same server—now regularly processing around 7 million transactions per day—while simplifying maintenance and retaining Dell support.
