QuestPoint, a global digital marketing and intelligence company that builds one of the largest panels of online consumer behavior data, was struggling with slow business intelligence and transactional performance. Heavy OLTP and OLAP workloads on a SAN caused I/O delays that left BI queries taking hours, limited transactional throughput to about 20,000 TPS, and constrained the size of its user panels.

QuestPoint moved active OLTP and OLAP data off the SAN and onto Fusion ioMemory ioDrive devices in the database servers, eliminating I/O bottlenecks. The change raised OLTP throughput to over 80,000 TPS (4x), cut report times from hours to seconds (100x+), supported roughly 10x more user panels, and sped failovers from minutes to about five seconds (24–36x faster) while keeping the same physical footprint and deferring SAN upgrades.
