Cloudbyte Enables Storage Virtualization With The Help Of Sandisk Ssds

CloudByte is a storage virtualization company founded to extend server-style virtualization into the storage layer with its ElastiStor Appliance (ESA) and Virtual Storage Machines (VSMs). The company faced legacy storage limitations—poor scalability, inflexible resource allocation and insufficient IOPS—that left many cloud and service-provider customers unable to meet performance needs for large numbers of databases and enterprise applications.

CloudByte addressed this with ESA deployed in hybrid or all‑flash configurations using SanDisk enterprise SAS SSDs (storing metadata and high‑IOPS workloads on flash) to guarantee per‑application performance, improve packing density, and simplify management. The result is higher utilization and consolidation (supporting thousands of apps and up to 40 TB per chassis in referenced deployments), reduced data‑center footprint and costs, and flexible multi‑tier storage offerings for public and private cloud customers.
