Woods Foodservice - Customer Case Study

Woods Foodservice, a £5 million, 24‑employee wholesaler supplying high‑end and Michelin‑rated restaurants in London, faced a major challenge moving from handwritten, paper‑based processes to a professional, scalable operation able to serve corporate buyers and compete on service. To modernise, Woods evaluated solutions and selected Sanderson’s Swords system to replace manual order/invoice handling and support a refocused business model.

Sanderson implemented Swords and added modules (email, reporting, price‑list automation) to automate ordering, statements and stock visibility. The change enabled faster nightly processing (typically 150 orders keyed and dispatched for 7am delivery), statements sent three times a month (saving over half a day), and better stock control — contributing to a fivefold increase in turnover, growth to 1,700 product lines and sustained high service levels. Sanderson continues to enhance Swords as Woods expands.
