Barry Group, a leading Irish wholesale and distribution group with over 230 employees serving more than 1,000 customers and trading in 20+ countries, faced the challenge of expanding into chilled (“chill chain”) distribution while improving web ordering, third‑party integration, customer service and reporting. To meet these needs the Barry Group turned to long‑term partner Sanderson, building on its Swords wholesale system and adding Sanderson’s web portal and online ordering tools.
Sanderson implemented Swords plus the Beacon web portal, RF picking and mobile CRM, integrating with a third‑party ERP to automate purchase orders and support a pick‑to‑zero model. The solution delivered a three‑day order turnaround, dramatically improved picking efficiency and customer satisfaction, increased sales and won new business; complaints are now managed and closed within three days, and customers use the responsive Sanderson web portal as their preferred ordering channel.
