Samsung Wi-Fi Empowers One of The Ten Largest Convention Centers in the U.S.

The International Exposition Center, Cleveland, Ohio, one of the largest convention and exhibition centers in the U.S., needed a technology upgrade to help double annual attendance by delivering the premium, high‑bandwidth wireless experience demanded by exhibitors and more than 1.5 million annual visitors. To meet requirements for greater coverage and throughput across the 2.2‑million‑square‑foot facility, the center turned to Samsung for Wi‑Fi and communications solutions (including Samsung WEC8500 controller, WEA303/WEA302 access points, and OfficeServ 7400).

Samsung, working with the Business Network Team (BNT), deployed a redundant WEC8500 controller and more than 220 Samsung 802.11n access points (roughly 180 WEA303e plus additional WEA302 units) to blanket the show floor, ballroom, meeting rooms and support up to 20,000 clients and thousands of simultaneous devices. The Samsung solution delivered reliable, predictable high‑density Wi‑Fi and an integrated telephony/security stack across the I‑X Center, improving exhibitor applications and guest connectivity and providing the scalable infrastructure needed to support the center’s growth goals.
