A Samsung Case Study
ChyronHego, a world leader in onscreen graphics for broadcast sports, news and live entertainment, was being held back by traditional spinning hard drives as it captured, stored and rendered massive high‑definition video and multi‑layered graphics. The company needed higher throughput, lower latency and greater availability for mobile production studios and live broadcasts, so it turned to enterprise SSDs from Samsung — notably the 840 Pro and 850 Pro series — to meet those performance and supply requirements.
Samsung deployed its enterprise‑grade SSDs (840/850 Pro series, up to 2TB capacity with sequential reads up to 550 MB/s and writes up to 520 MB/s) across nearly all ChyronHego products. The switch reduced array rebuilds from about a day to a few hours, cut failures during broadcasts, lowered power and cooling needs, and enabled faster capture, analysis and display of complex graphics and real‑time analytics for clients including the Olympics, NFL, MLB and top soccer leagues — delivering measurably better reliability and performance.
