Samsung Smart TVs with H-Browser Provide Landmark Hotel a Streamlined & Cost Effective In-Room Entertainment Solution

White Lodging’s Clark & Grand development in downtown Chicago needed an in-room entertainment system that could meet the distinct brand requirements of Aloft, Hyatt Place and Fairfield Inn & Suites while lowering upfront and ongoing costs, avoiding expensive coaxial cabling, and future-proofing the property. White Lodging chose Samsung and its Smart Hospitality TVs (590 Series) with H-Browser to address these needs.

Samsung deployed its IP-based 590 Series Smart Hospitality TVs with H-Browser (in partnership with Guest-tek), removing set-top boxes and interfacing directly with the head-end. The solution delivered immediate savings on hardware and installation (avoiding roughly 25 minutes of set-top box install time per room), more than 30% lower power use versus similar CCFL models, and eliminated in-room TV support issues compared with a typical 1.5% failure rate (about 10 daily callouts on a 650+ room property), while standardizing branded UIs and future-proofing the hotels for apps and mobile features.
