Samsung Smart Signage with Ping HD Drives Concession Sales, Reduces Wait Times

Delaware North Sportservice, which runs food concessions at U.S. Cellular Field for Chicago White Sox games, faced hard-to-read, costly-to-maintain light-box menu boards across 20,000 sq. ft. of serving areas and needed a cost-effective digital solution to better promote food items and drive shoppers to the adjacent Chicago Sports Depot. The company selected Samsung Smart Signage (DB Series displays with the Smart Signage Platform) and partnered with Ping HD to modernize its menus.

Ping HD deployed more than 100 Samsung DB Series 40" and 48" displays, using Samsung’s SSP-powered players and EngagePHD content management with an integrated product database to schedule animated and still promotions. The Samsung solution reduced maintenance, sped customer decision-making and shortened lines, delivered a 1.5% increase in sales from coordinated promotions, and boosted foot traffic to the Chicago Sports Depot while improving overall customer satisfaction.
