Samsung School Technology Connects Kids and Parents with Nature

Sequoia Park Zoo wanted to deepen student and visitor connections to its Watershed Heroes exhibit — a hands‑on program focused on otters, salmon and eagles — but needed untethered mobile technology and classroom device management to create immersive outdoor learning. To meet that challenge the zoo partnered with Samsung, selecting the Samsung School learning suite to equip students and educators with tablets and interactive displays.

Samsung implemented the Samsung School solution using Galaxy Note tablets and large Samsung commercial displays (including a 65‑inch touch screen), enabling wireless screen mirroring, teacher monitoring, instant quizzes and outdoor data collection. The rollout created a new interactive learning lab, boosted engagement among students and adults (more than half of adults at a recent event participated), prompted local teachers to integrate the lab into lesson plans, and attracted interest from other zoos, schools, libraries and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums as a benchmark model.
