A Samsung Case Study
Doddridge County School, a rural West Virginia district serving about 1,200 students, needed to improve student engagement and academic performance through a one‑to‑one computing program while giving teachers stronger classroom management and collaboration tools. After reviewing options the district selected Samsung’s solution—Samsung School interactive learning platform paired with 10.1‑inch Galaxy Note tablets—initially deployed in 16 middle‑school classrooms with each student receiving a tablet for use at school and home.
Samsung implemented the Samsung School platform and Galaxy Note devices to provide screen sharing, device monitoring and control, remote app/website launch, group collaboration and instant assessments, allowing teachers to monitor and redirect students and deliver individualized instruction. As a result, Doddridge County School saw increased student participation and homework completion that translated into improved state test performance, teachers reporting greater engagement, the rollout completed two years ahead of schedule, and expansion of the Samsung School program into the high school.
