A Samsung Case Study
The City of Arlington, TX, a municipal government serving about 365,000 residents with roughly 3,000 employees across 16 departments, faced an aging, fragmented print environment of more than 900 printers and copiers, multiple vendors, rising costs and little control. To modernize and standardize printing, the City of Arlington implemented a consolidated managed print services program that included Samsung multifunction printers (MultiXpress line) and related managed print services.
Samsung supplied a fleet of MultiXpress MFPs (using its XOA platform and integrated print-management tools such as PrintFleet/PrintIQ) to replace and consolidate devices, enable secure scanning and tracking, and support document-management workflows. The Samsung solution cut the fleet size by 56%, reduced monthly pages printed by 21%, shifted 85% of output to black-and-white, produced double-digit annual printing savings (projected 21% spending drop in FY2012), improved workflow for digitization and achieved 73% employee satisfaction.
