Samsung Mobile Devices Help Streamline Operations for Tech-Driven Waste Disposal Company

Daily Disposal, a family‑owned San Diego waste‑collection company, relied on paper printouts for daily routes and delinquent accounts, forcing drivers to flip between long lists and often causing missed or incorrect pickups. To modernize operations, Daily Disposal partnered with Samsung, deploying Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets and Galaxy S smartphones running the eMobile app to digitize routing, capture timestamps and photos, and replace paper workflows.

Samsung’s solution mounted Galaxy tablets in trucks and provided Galaxy S phones to managers so routes, GPS tracking and real‑time updates could be monitored and adjusted. The change eliminated paper, shaved about 45 minutes per route, reduced trucks in one area from three to two (saving more than $800 per day and about $41,600 per year for the parked truck), cut printing costs ~$2,700/year, improved route accuracy by 4%, and made devices easy and inexpensive to replace.
