Samsung Galaxy Tab Helps Logistics Fleets Increase Driver Efficiency and Communication

Teletrac, a fleet management software and services firm that helps nearly 20,000 customers manage about 250,000 vehicles, needed a more flexible, high-performance in‑cab platform to run its Drive app. To move off a closed OS and give drivers better audio, brighter displays, faster processing and wireless connectivity, Teletrac selected the Samsung Galaxy Tab as the tablet vendor and device to host its Drive application.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, running Android, provided a larger, higher‑resolution display, faster processing and Bluetooth connectivity to Teletrac’s Vehicle Location Unit, plus an open platform for faster app development and customization. The result was quicker downloads and updates, clearer maps and directions, faster two‑way messaging, easier HOS logging and reduced installation time and cost; Teletrac customers report substantial operational gains (up to 30% fuel savings, up to 15% less driver overtime and up to 12% higher productivity) and improved driver satisfaction with the Samsung solution.
