Samsung Galaxy S Smartphones Enable Efficient Workflows for Field Technicians

Roto-Rooter, the largest plumbing and drain-cleaning provider in North America, needed a durable, water-resistant smartphone for field technicians who work in wet, harsh conditions and rely on a mobile "digital lifeline" to communicate with dispatch, navigate, access job history, order parts, and process payments. Roto-Rooter partnered with Samsung to source devices that met those rugged requirements—deploying Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S active smartphones to technicians.

Samsung deployed roughly 2,500 Galaxy S and Galaxy S active phones centrally managed via mobile device management, enabling technicians to use the devices about 35 times a day for dispatch, navigation, invoicing, and payments. The Samsung solution increased field efficiency and customer satisfaction, provided real‑time location and job status, nearly eliminated routine branch visits, and sped lead capture for new water restoration services.
