Samsung Displays Provide Collaborative Learning Platform for Middle School Embracing 21st Century Learning with BYOD

Hall County School’s Academies of Discovery in Gainesville, Ga., faced the challenge of turning a BYOD-driven, project-based learning vision into a truly collaborative classroom experience. To enable students with a wide range of personal devices to work together, the district selected Samsung (with integrator dB Audio & Video) to supply LED-lit commercial displays and interactive whiteboard technology, including 65" ME Series displays with touch overlays, 55" MD Series collaboration displays, and UD Series video wall panels.

Samsung installed more than 40 ME Series 65" interactive displays, 55" MD stations that let up to 16 students share their screens, and a nine-panel UD Series video wall (nearly 14 feet) in the Learning Commons. The solution boosted student engagement and group creativity, improved project quality, reduced energy consumption and total cost of ownership, and has become a replicable model—Hall County School now hosts frequent visits from other districts as the rollout expands toward equipping all classrooms.
