Samsung Digital Signage Serves Up a Dynamic Learning Environment

The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College sought to modernize its campus for culinary, pastry, restaurant and hotel management students by replacing static bulletin boards and dated dining décor with dynamic digital signage. The College needed a cost‑effective, easy‑to‑manage solution to deliver time‑sensitive schedules and event information, create flexible themed dining backdrops, and showcase student work — and turned to Samsung commercial displays and MagicInfo software to meet those needs.

Samsung installed 30 displays across campus (including seven 40‑inch digital bulletin boards, a four‑panel 55‑inch videowall in the Great Chefs restaurant, and multiple 32‑inch framed hallway displays), leveraging embedded players to avoid costly renovations. The Samsung deployment delivers a centrally managed, paperless communications platform that runs 10–14 hours a day, supports more than 600 students, enables quick content updates via MagicInfo, and has transformed dining and public spaces with a measurable “wow” factor and increased visibility for events and student achievements.
