Samsung and Vivify Health Get Pediatric Transplant Patients Back Home to Heal

Children’s Health in Dallas, a leading pediatric hospital system that performs many complex transplants, needed a way to provide intensive post‑surgical supervision, medication education and follow‑up without forcing families to remain in or repeatedly return to the hospital. To extend care into patients’ homes, Children’s Health partnered with Samsung, deploying Samsung Galaxy tablets (alongside the Vivify Health remote care platform) to monitor recent liver transplant patients and post‑kidney‑transplant adolescents.

Samsung’s tablet‑based remote patient monitoring solution enabled virtual visits, daily biometric uploads and medication oversight, letting clinicians replace at least one twice‑weekly follow‑up with video calls, send some patients home earlier, and view medicines and vitals remotely. The program has reported strong early results with 100% staff satisfaction and 95% patient satisfaction, reduced hospital days for some patients, fewer clinic returns due to remote medication checks, and ongoing data collection toward reduced readmissions and better adherence.
