Expanding the wireless Internet service for the customer’s convenience

KAL Hotel, a hospitality group owned by Korean Air with properties in Jeju and Seogwipo, faced growing guest demand for reliable Wi‑Fi beyond lobbies and restaurants. To improve connectivity in rooms and ballrooms and replace an inefficient public-area-only network, KAL Hotel deployed Samsung’s wireless LAN solution (including WEA3020/WEA302i APs and WEC8500 AP controllers) in June 2014.

Samsung implemented a campus-wide design with 211 access points and 2 AP controllers to cover 282 rooms in Jeju and 225 rooms in Seogwipo plus multiple ballrooms. The deployment used multi‑antenna APs and features like Air Equalizer and a Captive Portal so one AP can serve three rooms and handle up to 40 devices concurrently, reducing establishment cost and TCO while delivering anywhere‑anytime Wi‑Fi that improved guest convenience and event connectivity.
