Cleveland Community College Helps Build Careers With Samsung Cloud Displays

Cleveland Community College, a rural higher-education institution in Shelby, NC serving about 10,000 students and managing roughly 1,500 computing stations, needed to expand student access to computers despite limited classroom space, tight capital budgets, and a small IT staff. To meet those challenges the college deployed Samsung SyncMaster Cloud displays (Samsung Cloud displays) in classrooms, labs and offices.

Samsung tied the Cloud displays to a virtual desktop infrastructure so students and faculty can log into their own desktop from any display; the vendor’s solution reduced IT support time, lowered capital outlay and energy use (about 70% less electricity than a typical PC and monitor), enabled centralized management, and has led to dramatic declines in support costs as hundreds of Samsung Cloud displays are rolled out campus-wide.
